"Stay Alive (Reprise)" is the 17th song of Act Two of Hamilton and the 40th song of the musical overall.
After Philip is shot in his duel with George Eacker, he is lain on his deathbed with his mother and father by his side. Philip apologizes for miscounting, alluding to ten years prior when his mother taught him to count while playing the piano. Eliza quickly reassures him that it wasn't his fault and that it was Eacker's miscounting, and the family says their final goodbyes.

Stay alive...
Stay alive...
Stay alive...
[HAMILTON]
Where is my son?!
[DOCTOR]
Mr. Hamilton, come in. They brought him in a half an hour ago. He lost a lot of blood on the way over.
[HAMILTON]
Is he alive?
[DOCTOR]
Yes, but you have to understand
The bullet entered just above his hip and
Lodged in his right arm
[HAMILTON]
Can I see him, please?
[DOCTOR]
I’m doing everything I can, but the wound was
Already infected when he arrived—
[HAMILTON]
Philip
[PHILIP]

I did exactly as you said, Pa
I held my head up high
[HAMILTON]
I know, I know. Shh
I know, I know
Shh. I know you did
Everything just right
[PHILIP]
Even before we got to ten—
I was aiming for the sky
I was aiming for the sky...
[HAMILTON]
Shh
I know, I know
I know, I know
I know
Save your strength and

You would put your hands on mine
[ELIZA]
You changed the melody every time
[PHILIP]
I would always change the line
[ELIZA]
Shh. I know, I know
[PHILIP]
I would always change the line...
[ELIZA]
I know, I know...
