Continental Congress

The Continental Congress, also known as the Philadelphia Congress, was a group of delegates called forth by the Thirteen Colonies, in which every colony was represented by at least one delegate. During the American Revolution, the Continental Congress became the primary governing body and made important decisions that brought the colonies together as a new nation. The Congress also founded the Continental Army, which was led by a command of one of the Congress's own members, George Washington, with the tactical army and organized and efficient Congress, the newly established nation had a better chance at success in the revolution against the British.
